The university is going to take a hit financially with its residence units as few of them are currently occupied. MUN is going primarily with an online platform, so the demand for living quarters is down significantly.

MUN President Dr. Vianne Timmons says they have looked at every possible way to save money and have imposed a hiring freeze but universities, in general, are finding it tough right now.

Timmons says the residences are all set up for international students who come into the province to self-isolate for 14 days.
