Some schools are having problems recruiting teachers and, as a result, have had to combine classes. One such facility is Ecole Saint-Anne, a French school in Mainland on the Port au Port Peninsula.

Parents were surprised and disappointed to see grades tripled up.

Education Minister Tom Osborne says the school board is doing its best to find teachers.

He says the Francophone School District is working to recruit personnel.
