Newfoundland Growlers Owner Reaches Deal to Bring New Team to Iowa

The owner of the Newfoundland Growlers now has a second ECHL hockey team. Dean MacDonald has reached an agreement with the City of Coralville and ArenaCo to have a hockey team in the eastern Iowa city. They have a new arena which seats 5,100 people.

Deacon Sports and Entertainment would also like to broaden its interests in this province and would like to take over Mile One.

The new team in Iowa would begin play in the 2021-22 season.
