The Gander Chamber of Commerce is warning of counterfeit $100 bills circulating in the area.
The Chamber says a number of businesses have encountered the phony cash recently.
They say the people responsible are driving a black Nissan Pathfinder, and when in a store have been taking the counterfeit bill out of one pocket and putting the change they receive in the other pocket.
As well, business owners should make staff aware of how a genuine bill feels versus a fake one.
More information about how to tell the difference can be found on the Bank of Canada website or by contacting the RCMP.
