For the second year in a row, a group of young NL hockey players is heading to France and Belgium to honour the memory of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians lost during WWI.
The Trail of the Caribou U18 hockey team will walk in the footsteps of members of the Newfoundland Regiment and visit memorials along the Trail of the Caribou.
There will also play in exhibition games against European teams.

MHA for Waterford Valley, Jamie Korab says the young players, who paid a visit to the House of Assembly yesterday, are from across the province.
“Including Clarenville, Paradise, Mount Pearl North, Virginia Waters-Pleasantville, Embree, Mount Pearl-Southlands, Windsor Lake, Norris Point, Port Saunders, and Waterford Valley.”
The team leaves for Europe today.
