No new positive cases or presumptive positive cases have been identified to date related to the latest case of COVID-19 reported in Labrador.
Health Minister John Haggie was joined by Acting Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Rosann Seviour in a news conference today to offer an update on the situation.
Photos from Happy Valley-Goose Bay from earlier depicted a line—kilometres in length—of people waiting for COVID testing. However, reports from the town indicate that progress has been made on the influx.

The latest case involves an essential health care worker who was given clearance to travel from Saskatchewan to Happy Valley-Goose Bay, prompting great concern in Labrador following a public health advisory.
Anyone on board a PAL Airlines flight from Deer Lake to Goose Bay on September 21 are at highest risk, and are being asked to get tested.

The person involved also spent time at the Holiday Inn Express in Deer Lake, and visited a couple of stores in Happy Valley-Goose Bay after her arrival—prompting officials to advise people who may have been at those stores at the same time to contact 811.
When asked whether COVID protocols were followed and what consequences are involved, Minister Haggie told reporters that government officials are looking at the circumstances surrounding what occurred prior to the person in question getting a COVID test.
