The House of Assembly resumed regular sitting today, albeit under the cloud that is COVID-19.
Fresh off her test for the coronavirus this morning, finance minister Siobhan Coady was front and centre during Question Period, fielding queries through a medical mask.
Coady says she remains symptom-free, now 11 days after she stayed in the same hotel as someone who later tested positive.
Coady says she was in Deer Lake on regular business and partially to campaign for Premier Andrew Furey in the lead-up to next week’s byelection in Humber-Gros Morne.

(Siobhan Coady speaks with media ahead of the 2020 budget speech.)
She says she learned that she might be at risk after delivering the budget speech yesterday, and seeing the news release that mentioned the Holiday Inn Express where she had stayed.
Coady says she was tested at the Waterford Hospital site this morning—adding that it was quick and painless.
Meanwhile, a review of budget estimates was postponed this morning due to a lack of sanitization of the Legislature after a session that went late into last night.
