The provincial government is neither saying yes nor no to a request from Trades NL to have a seat on the task force on the recovery of the oil and gas industry.
Bill Fanning and Karen Winsor, the co-chairs, are the only two to have been appointed by the Premier so far but Trades NL says it should be on the task force as well.
Energy Minister Andrew Parsons says he has spoken with the union’s executive director, Darin King, about it.
He says the composition of the task force will be left to the co-chairs but he recognizes the importance of Trades NL in the industry.
