The days of popping a few coins in the meter are a thing of the past in the capital city’s downtown.
The city has introduced new parking meters in the downtown that will take payment in a variety of ways, except cash.
Traditional parking meters were removed from the capital city some time ago after being repeatedly targeted by vandals who were destroying the machines to get the change inside.

The city previously estimated that it was losing just over a million dollars a year in paid parking.
Councillor Debbie Hanlon hopes the new meters, which are set up for debit and credit payments, will address the vexing problem.
All you will need is your licence plate number and the zone you are parked in which will be entered into the machine.
