The head of the union that represents paramedics in the province is blasting a situation in which a brick was thrown at the windshield of an ambulance while responding to a call as an “absolutely senseless act.”
NAPE President Jerry Earle explains that paramedics were recently responding to a call in the capital city when someone threw a brick at the windshield of the vehicle.

Earle said, “You can only imagine the sudden impact and the reaction of the paramedics…” He notes that nobody was injured, but the situation could have been much worse.
He says he can’t understand why someone would want to do such a thing, stating that it could have had serious implications for the person having the medical emergency.
Earle explains that they could have been responding to a child choking, someone going into cardiac arrest, or a car accident. He says because someone was “that irresponsible” there could have been dire consequences.
Luckily, he notes, that didn’t happen.
