The RCMP says traffic is moving once more following a collision near the Eastport Peninsula turnoff.
First responders rushed to the scene early Friday evening, just west of the turnoff. Drivers reported being caught in long lines of traffic for over an hour as police temporarily shut down the highway.
Traffic would eventually be re-routed through Traytown and Glovertown, but as of 7:40, the RCMP says the highway has reopened traffic in both directions.
Crews remained on scene to clear the area, and RCMP are asking drivers to proceed with caution.
There is currently no word on injuries.
