There are three new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province.
One is a senior, a tenant of Blue Crest Cottages in Grand Bank. That brings to five the number of cases in the Burin Peninsula community. All five cases are connected.
Anyone considered a close contact of the woman has been advised to quarantine.
The second new confirmed case is a woman in her 40s in the Western Health region. The source of the infection is under investigation and further information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
The third case involves a man in his 20s in the Eastern Health region who recently returned to the province from Nova Scotia.
All three people are self-isolating and contact tracing is underway.
The province has 13 active cases, with two people in hospital.
Grand Bank Mayor Offers Assurance

Following the news of the latest COVID case in Grand Bank, Mayor Rex Matthews says residents are on edge.
He says he’s hearing of increased anxiety and nervousness over the current cluster of cases.
According to Matthews, there is still a lot of testing going on within the community, and that process will continue throughout the weekend.
He says they need to get the cases in the area under control, and he assures that Eastern Health has put in a multitude of resources to ensure that happens.
