As cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in this province, and as outbreaks and spikes are continuing to be seen across the nation, health officials are urging people to keep their close personal contacts as low as possible.
Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald, explains that recently they have seen a rise in close contacts while doing contact tracing.
This is worrisome as case numbers continue to rise, and also because it creates a more exhausting process for health officials to track down all potential contacts.
Fitzgerald is urging people to keep their contacts low. Furthermore, you should keep track of who your contacts are.
Health Minister Dr. John Haggie says there are two ways to do that: Either download the COVID app, which he assures is safe and secure, or keep a rolling two-week diary of all the close contacts with who you spend more than 15 minutes within close proximity.
