Province Provides Guidence for Travel to Nova Scotia
Public Health is providing guidance regarding travel to Nova Scotia in light of yesterday’s travel-related case of COVID-19.
Officials say if travel to Nova Scotia is essential, people must follow all Public Health guidelines in effect in the province. While there, people are asked to limit their close contacts to as few people as possible, avoid large gatherings, crowded public places and continue physical distancing and wear a mask as needed.
Anyone traveling to Nova Scotia should also be aware of potential exposures to the virus identified by Nova Scotia Public Health.
Those returning to the province from Nova Scotia should self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days, and call 811 and arrange for testing if symptoms develop. Public Health is also asking those returning from Nova Scotia not to attend any gatherings, avoid crowded public places, and wear a mask when in contact with anyone outside their household bubble.
These new cases come off the heels of the announcement of a press conference with Premier Andrew Furey, Health Minister Dr. John Haggie, and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Janice Fitzgerald on Monday where they will be making announcements about COVID-19.
