The Victoria Volunteer Fire Department is issuing a reminder of its own regarding the safe operation of ATVs following a crash in the community Friday night.
According to police, the collision happened around 8 p.m. A person driving an ATV with no lights on collided with a vehicle that was making a turn from an intersection.
The ATV driver suffered minor injuries, and police impounded their vehicle.
The fire department once again stressed the importance of following all laws such as wearing proper safety gear, like helmets, and making sure lights are on when riding at night or when there’s low visibility.
They also recommend using reflective decals and clothing when out for a run.
Last week the RCMP announced they’re beefing up enforcement of laws around ATVs to put a dent in the increasing number of injuries and deaths due to accidents.
