Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro says wind damage caused a power outage affecting a large portion of the Great Northern Peninsula yesterday.
After some time patrolling the lines, Hydro crews discovered the issue late last night.
It appears wind caused an insulator on the line to let go and fall onto a cross arm.
Crews worked through the night and power was restored early this morning.
Update 12:15AM – Photo below shows damage found by crew. Windy conditions caused an insulator to let go and fall onto a cross arm. Crew will work through the night. Restoration to take approx. 4 hours. Thank you all for your continued patience as crews work safely to restore. https://t.co/ziMk8zlxpE pic.twitter.com/YSK9mYJHsb
