A local business owner who has seen booked holiday events cancelled due to suggestions that people reconsider their Christmas parties and gatherings is asking questions in the wake of news of at least three recent political fundraising events.
Three Liberal fundraisers have occurred in recent weeks on behalf of the district associations of John Haggie, Lisa Dempster and Andrew Furey.
Todd Perrin says his businesses have lost six bookings – all within the public health allowances, based “solely” on messages from the government. He calls that disheartening.
Perrin tells VOCM News and other people are seeing a “disconnect” in the messaging and the actions of government.
The messaging has been poor. The tone from the briefings has clearly been No Christmas parties – not adhere to protocols Our businesses have lost 6 bookings – all well within the allowances, based solely on the firm message from Gov. This was disheartening
