Many of the unique solutions found to working through what has been an unusual and challenging time came straight from front line workers themselves.
That’s according to NAPE President Jerry Earle.
When COVID-19 struck in March, everyone had to find a new way to deliver needed services. That’s where the membership really came to the forefront in finding ways around some pretty complex problems says Earle.
He says imaginative ways had to be found around certain circumstances and he cites social workers whose work is based on one-on-one meetings as just one example. He jokes we may all be “Zoomed out”, but the technology has made essential work possible at a difficult time.
Earle expects many of those new ways of doing things will persist even after the pandemic is a thing of the past.
