The city of St. John’s will allow residents to add two extra bags to their garbage this week to help get rid of extra holiday waste.
Residents are asked to place the bags alongside their automated cart on collection day.
They are reminding the public that holiday wrapping is not recyclable.
As there was no waste collection on Friday, January 1, collection for area 5 will go ahead on Monday.
The city also has two Christmas tree drop-off locations running this week.
Natural, undecorated trees will be accepted at the Quidi Vidi Lake gravel parking lot off The Boulevard until Sunday, January 10 or at Robin Hood Bay until January 9.
