Electricians are demonstrating in Holyrood this hour, a continuation of a long-standing and messy dispute within the IBEW stemming from financial mismanagement years ago.

The International stepped in and removed several officers of the union.

Kevin Slaney, vice-president of Local 2330, was one who lobbied for a long time for action to be taken.

The IBEW College in Holyrood has been in trusteeship for close to two years and he says the members just want their union hall back.

He says they have had no fair representation. They have about 1600 members, some of them without a job for the past two or three years.
