The NDP is calling for an “end to secrecy” after learning that members of the Premier’s Economic Recovery Task Force were asked to sign confidentiality agreements.
Federation of Labour President Mary Shortall resigned from the task force earlier this week but was unable to detail the exact reasons why because she signed a confidentiality agreement.
NDP Leader Alison Coffin says government needs to be more transparent.
She says the process is “cloaked in a veil of secrecy” and wonders what government is trying to hide.
The Premier’s Office says a non-disclosure agreement allows members to speak freely and have access to confidential information not normally provided to those outside the provincial government.
