DFO is investigating after someone shot and injured a seal on the ice near Chapel Arm Monday.
Area residents were distressed to see the animal, apparently injured and bleeding on the ice in full view of a playground and other town facilities.
DFO confirms it was contacted and is conducting an investigation, but is offering no further comment on the matter.
