The West End Community Alliance is hoping as many citizens as possible register and attend an online virtual meeting scheduled for February 10 to discuss a rezoning application for a green space on Eric Street.
The city will consider an application to change the zoning on the piece of land from Open Space to Residential High Density.
Chair Christina Steele-Nash says area residents are very concerned about the potential loss of city green space to accommodate three Habitat for Humanity townhouses.
She says the area has known water issues and the green space, which includes a popular community garden, is well-used by local residents.
Steele-Nash says city crews have tried for years to address the water problems with the property, but have been unable to identify the source of the water.
