A 34-year-old man with a massive amount of outstanding fines and a number of warrants is awaiting a court appearance after being stopped by police in the capital city Thursday morning.
RNC stopped the man in the west end of St. John’s before noon, where he was discovered to have over $34,000 in outstanding fines, 5fiveoutstanding warrants, a suspended driver’s licence, and the vehicle was unregistered.
The man was also on court conditions and was charged with breaching those conditions. He was held at HMP for a court appearance this morning.
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old woman with thousands in outstanding fines had her vehicle impounded yesterday.
At around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, police stopped the woman in the west end of St. John’s and unveiled that she had $12,000 in outstanding fines and a suspended driver’s licence.
She was released to appear in court at a later date.
