A 72-year old Deer Lake man has been arrested following a two vehicle crash on the Trans Canada late last week.
RCMP were called to the area near Deer Lake about 6:30 Friday evening.
There were no injuries.
Police say one of the two vehicles left the area, heading in the wrong direction. RCMP say the suspect vehicle was found stuck on the eastbound shoulder of the highway, facing west.
When police arrived on the scene they noticed open alcohol in the vehicle. The driver failed a roadside breath test with a reading twice the legal limit according to RCMP.
The driver, who’s facing a charge of impaired driving, was issued a driving suspension and had his vehicle seized and impounded. He also received a ticket for operating an unregistered vehicle.
