Bell Aliant says heavy ice has damaged a long stretch of cable serving Rigolet, Labrador which has been without some phone and internet service since the weekend.
Weather conditions prevented technicians from starting their investigation into the service disruption until yesterday.
Officials say the extent of the damage is so great that they do not yet have an estimated time when services will be restored.
