The City of St. John’s has updated its accessibility guidelines for businesses planning to use outdoor space during the spring and summer season.
Business owners planning to build outdoor areas, or parklets in the downtown core and Churchill Square are required to maintain a sidewalk width of two metres in front of their business, to allow a barrier-free sidewalk corridor both inside and outside the Pedestrian Mall which opens July 2nd.
Two checklists are available for business owners through the parklet application process for privately-owned and city-owned land.
