St. John’s city council is considering a pilot project that would make the inner gut of Quidi Vidi village a pedestrian-only zone during certain weekends this summer.
The area has long been a tourist draw and the city wants to provide access that is safe and inviting while still being practical to those who live and work in Quidi Vidi.
Residents, businesses and regular users of the inner gut in Quidi Vidi are invited to provide feedback on the proposed changes.
A letter is being mailed to residents this week.
Details can be found on the City of St. John’s website.
Visit the project page at engagestjohns.ca to register to attend a virtual information session. There are separate sessions for residents and businesses of Quidi Vidi Village inner gut:
June 15, 1 -2 p.m. residents and regular users
June 16, 1-2 p.m. businesses and employees
June 16, 7-8 p.m. residents and regular users
Feedback can be emailed to engage@stjohns.ca or contact Access St. John’s at 311 or 754-CITY.
