Whitbourne RCMP are warning the public after a young woman reported a suspicious incident in Whiteway, Trinity Bay on Friday.

The teenager reported that she was walking alone along the Main Road in Whiteway around 6:00 Friday evening when a man driving a red car stopped, asked her name, and offered her a ride.

The girl ignored the man and continued walking, and the car drove away.

The man is described as in his 30s with brown hair and an average build.

Police are reminding parents to speak with their children on what to do if approached by a stranger, and to report any suspicious activity.
