Officials are asking residents to avoid the area, and to use caution as crews work to extinguish the flames.
Central Newfoundland is currently listed as a high risk for forest fires due to recent dry conditions. Caution should be used in forested areas, and open fires requiring a Permit to Burn are prohibited.
