Eastern Health is setting up a new temporary drive-through COVID testing clinic for travellers from outside the province who require a COVID test on arrival in the St. John’s area.
The province is easing non-essential travel restrictions to Canadians starting today.
The testing clinic, which is by appointment only, opens today. It will run seven days a week from 12:00 noon to 4:00 a.m.
The testing clinic will be set up immediately adjacent to the main terminal building at St. John’s International with signs in place directing travellers to the site.
Travellers who require a COVID test on arrival are asked to book a testing appointment before their trip. Appointments can be made online or by phone at 1-833-951-3884 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Those who are tested are reminded they must self-isolate until they get a negative test result. Full details on testing and self-isolation requirements are available on the provincial government’s website.
