Visitors to downtown St. John’s can expect to enjoy a variety of pop-up events through the summer as the new expanded Pedestrian Mall opens for another season.
The official ribbon-cutting took place yesterday on Duckworth Street, portions of which are now included in the pedestrian mall along with Water Street and George Street.
Mayor Danny Breen says a variety of performers will be part of this year’s downtown experience.
He says they won’t be advertised, but he thinks there will be something there for everyone.
The city has also tripled the number of accessible parking spaces in the area for persons with disabilities.
