Lester’s Farm Market has partnered with Lanes Retirement Living for a program that has residents of the facility buzzing.
With help from Lester’s, residents have planted an assortment of vegetables in their garden, as well as some flowers. Management of the facility plan to take the vegetables that are grown and use them to cook a big dinner for everyone.

Those who live at Lanes are excited to see the garden grow, including Dorothy Harding. She says she always had a garden.
Cynthia Taylor, life enrichment coordinator with Lanes, says many of their residents didn’t have a lot of visitors during COVID and they became very laid back, but this project has brought with it some new excitement.
She calls it humbling to see how happy they are, noting that, like a seed that’s been planted, their souls have grown while doing the project.
