A team of 19 swimmers will brave the waters between Bell Island and Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s this weekend in the annual Tickle Swim for Mental Health.
The local division of the Canadian Mental Health Association will be on hand early Saturday morning as the swimmers hit the water at 7 a.m. for the roughly two-hour trip across five kilometres of water.
It’s the ninth year of the event, which sets out to raise funds for CMHA’s programs and services, and to raise awareness of mental health in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Information on the event and how to donate is available on the Tickle Swim website.
