The province is reporting a small cluster of cases in the Western Health region with nine new confirmed cases of COVID-19 today.
All but two of the new confirmed cases are in the Western Health region.
One of the cases is in the Eastern Health region and is a contact of a previous case, while another is in the Central Health region and is related to travel in Canada.
The other seven cases are all in the Western Health region. One is related to travel in Canada while the other six are all contacts of a previous case.
All identified cases are isolating and Western Health is conducting contact tracing. The source of the cluster is under investigation.
Public Health officials say unlike the cluster in the Mount Pearl area back in February, a large portion of the population is now fully vaccinated, and changes how officials manage contacts of cases.
Testing and isolation now takes vaccination status into consideration. There are currently 21 active cases of the virus in the province.
