The RNC are warning of a new scam in the Corner Brook region.

Police have received multiple calls of a man in the city taking money to complete home maintenance work and then not following through.

A man of around 40 years of age has been approaching homeowners, and offering his services at reduced prices. He asks for pay upfront, starts the job, and then leaves the job incomplete.

Police recommend that people research a person or contractor before hiring them, and request references. They also warn of providing payment before any work has been completed.
