Eastern Health says it is actively recruiting to fill two of three physician positions on Bell Island that will become vacant in the coming months.
Wabana Mayor Gary Gosine raised concerns about the upcoming shortage yesterday on VOCM.
Eastern Health says one of the doctors at the DR. Walter Templeman Health Centre on Bell Island will be leaving the position at the end of this month, while the other will be leaving at the end of November.
The health authority says its goal is to ensure that services for residents of Bell Island will continue uninterrupted.
