A 44-year-old man is being charged after fleeing from police on an ATV in Petty Harbour.
At around 9:30 p.m., RNC Officers attempted to stop a man, who was known to police, for driving an ATV on the road. The man slowed down and spoke to the officers before taking off at a high speed.
As police knew the man, they went to his house and arrested the 44-year-old for flight from police. He was issued tickets for operating an ATV without a helmet, plates, or insurance, and operating an ATV on a roadway.
He was released to appear in court at a later date and his ATV was seized.
