The downtown Pedestrian Mall officially closed for the season yesterday—now comes the process of getting a better understanding of what worked, and what needs improvement.
The capital city has launched an online public feedback process to hear from businesses, visitors and residents.
The goal of the Pedestrian Mall was to stimulate the downtown economy while providing businesses with expanded operating space when indoor capacity was limited due to COVID-19.
The city conducted on-street interviews in the Water Street, Duckworth Street and George Street areas, and focus groups are also planned with businesses and organizations, along with the city’s Inclusion Advisory Committee.
Meanwhile, a similar feedback process is planned for the Quidi Vidi Village Pilot Project.
