An unusual accident in Southlands late last night left one man in hospital and caused a significant amount of property damage.

At about 11 p.m., a northbound vehicle lost control and struck a vehicle parked in a driveway which, in turn, struck and heavily damaged a house on Brad Gushue Crescent.

The RNC, St. John’s Regional Fire Department and paramedics were on the scene. The 27-year-old driver was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

The incident remains under investigation.
