The Department of Education is aiming to have students at three Northern Peninsula schools return to class next week under a high-risk scenario.
Students at Cloud River Academy in Roddickton, H.G Fillier Academy in Englee and Mary Simms All Grade in Main Brook will return to school on September 14th.
Under a high-risk scenario, the students will have to wear masks in classrooms, buses, hallways and other common areas, field trips and extracurricular activities are temporarily suspended and there will be no community use of schools in the area.
A number of communities in the eastern portion of the Northern Peninsula have moved back to Alert Level 3 following a COVID cluster with what Public Health officials are calling a large number of contacts.
Additional COVID testing and vaccination clinics have been set up in the region.
