Premier Andrew Furey says there will be a post-mortem in the weeks and months to come, following the aftermath of Hurricane Larry.
Furey says anytime there is a natural disaster or event like this, it’s incumbent upon government to do a post-mortem and recognize what was done well and what can be improved on.
He believes that’s how the province gets better and more prepared for each subsequent event that occurs. The Premier says there were lessons to be learned from Snowmageddon, and more lessons to be learned today – but the true disaster would be if we didn’t understand those lessons and improve for the future.
Furey is confident that’s being done and they’ll be even more prepared for the next event.
The Premier is thanking all first responders for their efforts.
