Mayor Danny Breen says, all things considered, hurricane Larry could’ve been much worse.
And while that may sound cliché, the fact that there were no reported injuries backs him up.
The fallout was limited to some structural and road damage, as well as power outages mostly resulting from downed trees falling on wires.
But in the end there was little flooding and no calls for medical help related to the storm.
Breen chalks that up to when Larry landed and how quick he was gone again.
He says it had everything to do with timing and the speed of the system, noting if it had been in the middle of a work and school day, it might’ve been a different story. Breen also says it’s a testament to the wisdom of following the guidance from the experts.
