The Newfoundland Labrador Liquor Corporation has suspended the sale and use of its hand sanitizer, produced locally at Rock Spirits, pending further information from Health Canada.
In the early stages of COVID-19, the NLC was engaged by the provincial government to produce hand sanitizer as the result of a global shortage of such material.
Health Canada’s compliance protocols have since returned to normal, meaning the NLC is now subject to the same testing as other producers of PPE.
The NLC says while there are no immediate health concerns, it is discontinuing its sale and use of its hand sanitizer for the time being as a precaution.
