It’s a big day on the Connaigre Peninsula.
Bay d’Espoir Academy is officially open, nearly five years after the school in Milltown-Head of Bay d’Espoir was destroyed by a man who set fire to several buildings in the community in January of 2017.
A decision was made to relocate the regional school to St. Alban’s.
The new facility officially opened this morning. Area MHA Elvis Loveless says it’s a proud moment for students and staff.
He was unable to be there since the House is in session, but his constituency assistant described to him the smiles on the faces of students, parents and grandparents as kids arrived for school.
