COVID-19 booster doses for those eligible will be provided starting next week.
Some changes have been made to eligibility for the booster shots, which are to be administered at least six months after the second vaccine was received.
Those eligible for a booster shot include adults in seniors homes and other congregate living facilities, adults 70 years and older, people who have only received two doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, those who have only received one dose of the Janssen vaccine, Indigenous residents or those who live in an Indigenous community, and frontline healthcare workers who have direct in-person contact with patients.
