Two men are facing weapons charges after separate incidents in the capital city on Saturday.
Around 10:30 Saturday morning, police were called to an assault in progress in the east end of St. John’s. A 19-year-old man was arrested for assault with a weapon, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, and mischief over $5,000. There were no injuries.
Shortly before 9:30 last night, police were called to the centre city to deal with a suspicious vehicle. Police arrested a 45-year-old suspect wanted on outstanding charges. He was charged for having an imitation firearm while committing an indictable offence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Both men were sent to the lockup for court in the morning.
