A 64-year-old man has been charged after his pickup was pulled over on the Botwood highway.

RCMP pulled the truck over after it was observed traveling at 128 km/h, while swerving and occasionally driving on the shoulder.

The driver, who police say showed signs of alcohol impairment refused to provide a roadside breath sample and was arrested.

He’s been charged with refusal and impaired driving. He was also ticketed for speeding, his licence was suspended and his truck was seized and impounded.
