The Murphy Centre has kicked off its annual Inspiring Lives campaign, and they have already received some significant donations towards their programs.
The centre, which is a non-profit charitable organization, helps adults achieve their educational goals.
To kick things off, the centre received a three year, $100,000 commitment from Growlers Give and the ClanMac Foundation, which will be used to develop an academic readiness program. As well, Verafin made a donation that will go towards a tech prep program.
Executive Director of the Murphy Centre, Tim Turner, says those programs are very important to the people they help.
He explains that the academic readiness program will act as a bridge for those who may need an extra nudge to reach their goals, and the tech prep program will give participants necessary technology skills needed to thrive in today’s world.
