The Newfoundland Growlers opened their ECHL homestand on a positive note with a 4-2 win over the Reading Royals in their first game back at the Mary Brown’s Centre
The game was scoreless until Bobby Lynch made it 1-0 for the Growlers 12 minutes into the second period. After Reading tied it, Zach O’Brien put the home team ahead to stay on a breakaway with just over 6 minutes left in the period. Ty Pelton-Bryce, the game’s first star, and Todd Skirving added third period markers in a 4-2 win.
The two teams tangle again at the Mary Brown’s Centre Friday and Saturday nights.
